Latrell Sprewell

Latrell Sprewell was born on September 8, 1970 in Milwaukee, Wiscounsin. From there he attended junior college and then transfered to University of Alabama. He was drafted 24th in the first round by the Golden State Warriors

Sprewell received fame the minute he stepped on the court. He earned All Rookie team honors his first year. He would also become a three time allstar and the only 2- guard besides Michael Jordan to win All NBA 1st Team honors from 1984-1998

Sprewell entered this league as a defensive stopper but has developed offensively into the most talented shooting guard/ small forward in the NBA. He is often regarded as the league's best finisher.

Sprewell fell from glory early in the 1997-1998 season. With Golden State playing poorly Sprewell made a mistake and choked his coach P.J. Carlesimo. Sprewell was suspended for the remaining 68 games of the 1997-1998 season.

Sprewell's career took a turn for the good when his contract was reinstated and he was traded to the New York Knicks. In a major city like New York Sprewell took national attention and has lead the Knicks from the eight seed in the playoffs to the finals. Sprewell is a admirable as player and as a person. Pretty soon the world will know the "American Dream" as he is ready to inherit Mike's throne.
